The man’s name was John, and he was a bit of a mess. He had been married twice before, and both marriages had ended in divorce. The reason for his first divorce was rumored to be his violence, but he never confirmed or denied it.

John had recently remarried a woman named Mary, who also had a child from a previous marriage. The child, a two-year-old boy named Michael, was now John’s son.

John’s desk was always a mess, and his phone was usually left in the middle of it, surrounded by mugs, donut halves, tissue paper, and other detritus. The wallpaper on his phone was a photo of Michael, smiling and happy.

John loved Michael very much, but he was also aware that he was not a perfect father. He had a temper, and he sometimes lost his patience. He knew that he needed to work on his anger issues, but he didn’t know how.

One day, John was looking through Michael’s baby book when he came across a photo of Michael’s biological father. The man was tall and handsome, with kind eyes and a gentle smile. John felt a pang of jealousy. He wished that he could be more like Michael’s biological father.

John knew that he needed to change if he wanted to be a good father to Michael. He started going to therapy to deal with his anger issues. He also started spending more time with Michael, playing with him and reading to him.

It wasn’t easy, but John was determined to be the best father he could be. He knew that Michael deserved a good father, and he was determined to be that for him.

One day, John was playing with Michael when he got angry. He started yelling at Michael, and he even raised his hand to him. But then he stopped himself. He took a deep breath and reminded himself that he didn’t want to be like his own father. He apologized to Michael and promised that he would never hurt him again.

From that day on, John was a different man. He was patient and loving, and he never raised his hand to Michael again. Michael thrived under John’s care, and he grew up to be a kind and gentle boy.

John and Mary eventually had two more children together, a boy and a girl. John was a loving and devoted father to all of his children. He never forgot the mistakes he had made in the past, and he was determined to be the best father he could be.
