The school meal, mandated by the federal government, began in 1946. That was when the Truman administration passed the National School Lunch Act and implemented the National School Lunch Program (NLSP) to protect the health and well-being of children.
The 2010 “Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act” has reduced school lunch fruits, vegetables, cereals and salt within the NSLP. Nationwide research shows the success of this Michelle Obama effort. It was reported that the children were eating healthy without increasing leftovers.
In 2017, the American Academy of Pediatrics reported that improving nutrition in schools could prevent 345,000 cases of childhood obesity by 2025. For every dollar invested in improving school nutrition programs, they can save $ 5 on medical expenses.
Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue, in collaboration with the United States Department of Agriculture, has pulled back the standards of the Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act. This month, USDA has approved replacing half of the current breakfast fruit with pastries and granola bars, allowing potatoes as daily lunch vegetables, and providing pizza, french fries or hamburgers in school meals.
The US government is trying to change the rules on children’s health and nutrition. USDA intends to intervene in the lunch menu for more than 500,000 children by modifying the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
These modifications will reverse childhood obesity measures achieved over the past 15 years, exacerbating the prevalence of adult obesity in the United States and increasing obesity-related healthcare costs to over $ 300 billion a year. In addition, even school management can be adversely affected.
These efforts to reverse Michelle Obama’s effective health promotion efforts are a modification to the nutrition policy of children since the Nixon administration.
The Secretary of Agriculture and USDA will make school meals high in calories and unhealthy. These changes to child health indicate that the Secretary has no choice but to erase the Obama administration’s track record.

But the Secretary has argued
that it is excessive work for the government to require schools to discourage bad health habits and promote good habits. The cost of this plan is too high and the profit is too low.
If SNAP does not apply, it may also be exempt from NSLP. Restricting a healthy diet promotes dietary anxiety and hunger and increases the consumption of cheap, high-calorie processed foods.
USDA kitchen personnel are desperate to put on obese menus and pack poorly-healthy, high-calorie foods into school lunch programs to contribute to the interests of food stores. They argue that these modifications “make school lunch again great.”

In 1946, national security concerns were based on the prevalence of youth who were not eligible for the military based on malnutrition. Currently, about 30% of young people are “unfit” for military service due to excess weight. The proposed changes will increase the consumption of super processed foods high in salt, sugar, and fat. These foods contribute to obesity, and the resulting obesity reconstructs the inexpensive national security threat that the United States boasts.

We like better things than bad things. Nobody likes bothersome things. To be precise, there are a few people like that.
But I don’t think you should remember many times that you enjoyed it. Because memories change as you recall. Realize that you didn’t notice when you had fun.
That is what makes the fun memories change
The stored contents are transformed into completely different information. I don’t know if that’s good now.
What is “fun”? I feel like I never really experienced it. “Is it fun?” I’ve been persuaded by someone and I have reluctantly agreed.
School is a mysterious space where similar people come together. The topics that are exchanged there are very limited.
One day, a birthday was talked about. Opinions spread that older people are older because their birthdays are earlier. The viewpoint of being older and younger in the same grade certainly provided a fresh topic.
One of my friends had a birthday, so we decided to have a birthday party for him. I was reluctant. Because he lived in a home that wasn’t home to gorgeous parties. Giving a present could not have been expected to return as well or more.
However, on the day of his birthday, the boys played at his house. It was not fun. It was not my own birthday.
That’s it for today’s post. Thank you
