Process by which opinions lacking neutrality lose credibility:

And he was determined to make the most of it....

The man sat at his desk, staring at the photo of the smiling toddler on his phone screen. It was his new son, from his recent marriage. But even as he looked at the child’s innocent face, the man couldn’t shake the feeling that he was still looking for something.

He had been divorced once before, and that marriage had ended in violence. But he had quickly remarried, to a woman with a child of her own. He should have been happy. He had a new family, and a second chance at fatherhood. But something was missing.

He couldn’t put his finger on it, but he felt like he was on a treadmill. He was constantly looking for the next thing, the next person, the next thing to make him happy. But nothing ever seemed to be enough.

He had been rumored to be abusive in his first marriage, but he had never admitted it. And even if he had, it wouldn’t explain why he was now looking for a third wife.

One day, his wife confronted him about it. She knew that he was unhappy, and she wanted to help him. But he refused to talk to her about it. He just said that he needed some time to figure things out.

So he gave himself time. He thought about his life, and all the choices he had made. He thought about his son, and the kind of father he wanted to be. And he realized that he was on the wrong path.

He didn’t need a third wife. He didn’t need the next thing. He needed to focus on the family he already had. He needed to be the best father he could be to his son.

So he made a change. He stopped looking for something new, and started focusing on what he already had. He started spending more time with his family, and less time at work. He started listening to his wife, and trying to understand her needs.

And slowly but surely, he started to feel happier. He realized that he had everything he needed, right in front of him. He had a loving family, and a second chance at life. And he was determined to make the most of it.
