Why do people find things strange at first but eventually stop worrying about them?

He was still looking for a third wife, but he knew that he had finally found the right one....

The man sat at his desk, staring at the photo of the smiling toddler on his phone screen. It was a child he had met suddenly last year, and who had become his child just as suddenly. He had remarried to the child’s mother, who was also a divorcee.

He still didn’t know all the details of how things had happened so quickly. He had divorced his first wife due to his violence, and then he had remarried soon after to another woman with a child. And now, just a year later, he was looking for a third wife.

He sighed and rubbed his temples. He knew he was a mess. He had been through a lot in his life, and he had made a lot of mistakes. But he was determined to find a woman who could love him and his child for who they were.

He picked up his phone and opened his dating profile. He had already gone on a few dates, but he hadn’t met anyone he really connected with yet. He was starting to feel discouraged.

But then he saw a new profile that caught his eye. It was a woman named Sarah. She was a single mother with a young son. She had a warm smile and kind eyes.

He sent her a message, and she replied a few hours later. They started talking, and he quickly realized that they had a lot in common. They both loved spending time with their kids, and they both had a good sense of humor.

They went on their first date a week later, and it went really well. They talked for hours, and he felt like he could tell her anything. He was starting to feel hopeful for the first time in a long time.

At the end of the date, he walked her to her car. “I had a really great time,” he said.

“Me too,” she said. “I’d like to see you again sometime.”

He smiled. “I’d like that.”

He watched her drive away, and he felt a sense of peace that he hadn’t felt in a long time. He knew that he had found a woman who could love him and his child for who they were.
