“Good morning. Did you finish yesterday’s report? I’m happy to see everyone’s energetic faces this morning.”
Needless to say, there was turmoil among the seven members of the section. This is because they have not yet submitted their daily reports.
A few days ago, the deputy chief thought of something to get the section staff to submit their daily reports. The idea was to have everyone bring a daily report to the meeting.
He was confident in his ideas. If bringing the daily report is a condition for the section members to participate in the meeting, the deputy chief can receive the daily report for everyone every morning.
- Why assume the worst case?
- Our thinking always tends to be idealistic.
But we who are wise assume the opposite to reduce the bias. That is, assume the worst case.
This might be called psychological crisis management. However, it is limited to psychological aspects.
“Starting tomorrow, bring the daily report to the meeting. If you don’t bring the daily report, you won’t be able to participate in the meeting.”
By yesterday, the Deputy Chief had met with each of the seven section members to inform them of the new procedure. Everyone received the same instructions from him.
However, a few minutes before the meeting started, the section chief began a private greeting. No, it’s not a personal greeting. Because all 7 people are lined up.
- Why is all crisis management so ineffective?
- It must be said that such crisis management is extremely powerless. Because the reality that is the final obstacle remains.
Our thoughts are too helpless before reality. Even though we think realistically to fight against it.
The section members looked at the deputy director. He listens seriously to what the section chief is saying.
