Symbol vs. Reality

We should all be aware of the power of symbols, and we should be careful not to let them lead us astray…..

The man’s phone sat on his desk, a photo of a smiling toddler as its wallpaper. The child was his, but he had only met him a few months ago. He had remarried last year, and his new wife had a son from her previous marriage.

The man had been divorced once before, and the reason for his divorce was rumored to be his violence. But he had been able to remarry quickly, and now he was looking for a third wife.

The man’s desk was a mess. There were mugs, donut halves, tissue paper, and permanent marker pens scattered everywhere. But the phone was the only thing that was neat and orderly. The photo of the toddler was the only thing that showed any sign of care or attention.

The man’s life was a mess, but the symbol of his life, the photo of the toddler, was orderly and perfect. The symbol was easier to understand than reality itself.

The man was looking for a third wife, but he didn’t know what he was looking for. He didn’t know what kind of woman he wanted, or what kind of relationship he wanted. He just knew that he wanted another wife, another symbol of a perfect life.

The man’s story is a cautionary tale about the dangers of symbols. Symbols can be powerful things, and they can lead us to believe things that are not true. The man in the story was blinded by the symbol of a perfect life, and he didn’t see the reality of his own life.

The concept that the symbol of reality is easier to understand than reality itself is a complex one, but it is one that is worth thinking about. Our symbols can shape our perceptions of reality, and they can lead us to make decisions that are not in our best interests.

In the man’s story, the symbol of the toddler was a powerful thing. It blinded the man to the reality of his own life, and it led him to make a decision that would have disastrous consequences.

We should all be aware of the power of symbols, and we should be careful not to let them lead us astray.
