Symbols: Realistic Anger Factors

For now, he just wanted to hold the boy in his arms and tell him that everything was going to be okay…..

The man sat at his desk, his phone in the middle of a mess of papers and coffee mugs. He stared at the photo of the toddler on his phone’s wallpaper, his expression unreadable.

He had remarried last year, and with his new wife had come a toddler. The child was two years old, and the man had only met him a few times. He didn’t know much about the boy’s past, but he had heard rumors that the reason for the first wife’s divorce was his violence.

The man didn’t know if the rumors were true, but he couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease. He had never been violent before, but he knew that he was capable of it. He had seen it in his own father, and he knew that it was a part of him too.

He looked down at the phone again, and the toddler’s smile seemed to mock him. He knew that he shouldn’t be thinking these things, but he couldn’t help it. He was afraid that he would hurt the boy, just like his father had hurt him.

He stood up and walked over to the window, staring out at the city below. He took a deep breath and tried to calm himself down. He knew that he couldn’t let his fears control him. He had to be strong for the boy, even if he didn’t feel strong himself.

He turned away from the window and walked back to his desk. He picked up the phone and looked at the toddler’s photo again. This time, he smiled. He knew that he could do this. He would be a good father to the boy, even if he didn’t feel like he deserved it.

He put the phone down and picked up a pen. He started to write a letter to the boy’s mother, promising that he would take good care of him. As he wrote, he felt a sense of peace come over him. He knew that he was doing the right thing.

He finished the letter and sealed it in an envelope. He addressed it to the boy’s mother and put it in his pocket. He would mail it tomorrow.
