Grandma was a bright person, so I could not imagine such misfortune. But why didn’t she talk to her grandchild?

She may not have talked about the misfortune because the misfortune did not go away. Grandchildren born after the war believed that peace was wonderful. Some of my parent relatives were veterans. He also did not talk about military experience at all. In peaceful times, you may not be able to speak about war, or you may have no way to speak.

The Veterans Affairs medical system has launched emergency measures to limit further transmission of the disease within the medical facility.
Already, pharmacies have switched all drug delivery to mail order to further reduce COVID-19 transmission. All medicines and consumables will be mailed.

While cleaning up my house, I found an old letter. After somehow reading, I realized that two of my relatives had died in the war. One did not return from the sea and the other did not return from the continent.

I have never known such a fact before

They are the brothers of the late grandmother, but I do not remember that when the grandmother was alive she said that both brothers had died in World War II. She may not have said so.
Is such silence the darkness that lies between generations? Or sever? Or a wall? No, it could be bigger. Are veterans’ feelings understood only by veterans? So what is peace? Is “peace” when experience is not transmitted between generations and one generation knows nothing?

The Emergency Department will work with the Maine Emergency Management Division on March 23 to dispatch a triage unit to control infection. As more test kits become available, they will be expanded to Portland, Lewiston, Bangor, etc.
