It is said that many occupations will become unmanned due to the development of IT technology. Most of the work that people used to do is lost.
If that happens, the concierge occupation will disappear. Concierges are placed at famous hotels, and various concrete services are predicted and introduced to the vague needs of guests.
For example, if guests request to see some event, the concierge will introduce them to nearby theaters, museums and cinemas. If guests want to shop, they will introduce famous brand shops, arrange taxis, and dispatch employees to carry luggage.
In this way, concierge is a type of job in which an order is placed in reverse of the customer’s order.
However, credit cards have a more detailed understanding of the history and trends of the purchasing behavior of guests. By analyzing the accumulated data, it is possible to accurately predict what the card user will buy and spend today.
So many years of concierge experience are of little use.
And I think that another big reason why IT technology is expanding into various occupations is the tip.
Even in Europe and the United States, employees still receive tips individually in the service industry. It’s income other than regular salary, and it’s customary money that works between the service user and the provider.
Tips are an important source of income for employees to supplement their salaries, and it may not be possible to live without them.
So, people who work in the service industry demand tips from customers, but IT doesn’t do that. IT works without a tip.
For the above reasons, I think there is a reason why IT is becoming popular in the service industry.
