I passed by dozens of children riding bicycles. They were about to go play baseball somewhere in the square.
There were several adults in the group
They were the coaches of the children’s team, or the parents of the children.
I envy children who are blessed with an environment to play baseball!
Their belongings were a large bag of baseball equipment and a lot of plastic bottles. They carried water as a measure against the heat.
Even if I’m their age, I don’t think I’ll feel like riding a bike early in the morning to carry a lot of luggage.
Of course, playing sports is a good thing. Even I walk a lot and run occasionally.
However, the time will come when they too will get tired of baseball. And they will also start observing adults who avoid getting tired.
But don’t get me wrong. Adults have adult dreams.
What is gambling?
I sometimes wonder what gambling is.
We know that under certain probability, optimistic thinking that a small investment will make a big profit is a major factor in gambling.
The purpose of those who start the speculative activity is great profit. Everyone wants big profits, but gamblers try to make it with a small investment.
Therefore, gamblers are often exposed to ethical criticism at all times. In short, they are evaluated as deviating from a serious, stable and hard-working lifestyle.
But isn’t probability involved in what we consider to be a diligent and stable balance?
Is the non-speculative balance really stable?
That’s not true, right? Even the stable life we dream of occurs with a certain probability.
Even in a lifestyle where ethical thinking eliminates gambling, it is a gambling whether it goes as planned.
If so, the barrier between gambling and non-gambling is an illusion. The two are not decisively different, but only color-coded to varying degrees.
Children who are crazy about baseball also have dreams. They devote themselves to baseball to make that dream come true.
But unfortunately, it’s also a gambling.
Well, it was hot, so I bought ice cream.
A wooden board is stuck in the cold and delicious ice cream. The thin stick is engraved with a symbol, and if you are lucky you can receive one of the same ice creams for free.
A group of children move away. Nothing was engraved on my wooden stick.
Ben & Jerry’s Stops Sales Of Ice Cream In Palestinian Territories : NPR… “Ben & Jerry’s has decided to brand itself as the anti-Israel ice cream,” …
That’s all for today’s post. Thank you
