What should we focus on to understand things?

As soon as the power of the terminal was turned on, the order data flowed without interruption like a waterfall.....

“Currently, the server is down, so each person should wait on the spot. As soon as the server is restored, we will send unprocessed cases at any time.”

A sales management system was developed

with a lot of development costs, but it stops working every Saturday night.
The cause is quite simple. The amount of information entered will increase dramatically on Saturday night.
However, the simpler the cause, the more questionable the idea behind the sales management system.
Many people who rejoice when a server goes down don’t know much about the reality of information engineering. All they know is that they can rest until the dead server starts working again.
So even if the work flow is suddenly cut off, those who are overworked on the front line do not have to suffer.

What is the easiest way to understand things?

When we try to understand things, we first simplify things.
We remove irrelevant miscellaneous information in order to take a closer look only at the essence of things.
I would like to admit that it is a modern and rational method. It’s at least an analytical method.
But even with such a nice method, sometimes it is not possible to clarify the essence of things and solve the problem. why?
It’s not because the above method isn’t enough, but because it’s wrong.
Not all things can be born and exist independently on their own. Everything is always related to something else.
And the essence of one thing is often hidden in its relationship with another.
So simplifying things is not always right.
When you break a relationship, even clues to a quick and deep understanding of things will be cut off.

“Why don’t you turn off your device, wait about 5 minutes, and then turn it on again?”
I wonder if this instruction has an information engineering basis.
It was doubtful that the server would recover if the power was turned off.
But the operators are professionals who can recover a server that keeps breaking every Saturday night. Following their analog instructions, the frontline guys turned off the terminal and did other things.
Fuck. With a five-minute break, everyone could have had some fun. As soon as the power of the terminal was turned on, the order data flowed without interruption like a waterfall.

Quick Chat: Christopher Smith - University of Georgia Athletics… Yes, sir, that’s pretty much a perfect play., …

That’s all for today’s post. Thank you
