It’s a descriptive text, so you can use a lot of words

The fundamental question is what the diverse readers are looking for.....

“A novel is easy to write. After all, it’s a descriptive text, so you can use a lot of words.”

structure
words
margin
text

readers

This is a poet’s remark. If a novelist hears this, he might get angry.

But I don’t think it’s a big mistake to point out that the novel is an explanatory text.

Novelists want to explain something, produce a ton of words, think of consistency rather than impression, and have a passion for getting readers to understand something.

But not all readers are consuming words to gain knowledge. Some readers want to share their joys, sorrows and surprises.

Poetry may be one of the options to meet the demands of such readers. Basically, poetry doesn’t explain anything concretely. Conversely, poetry uses the reader’s imagination to meet the reader’s needs.

Well, what I’m talking about right now is an idea, a vague one. However, as long as both novels and poetry are sold and bought as products, there must be a principle mechanism.

What is the inalienable mechanism of poetry? I think it’s a design.

More specifically, it’s the structure of the page. It’s a task that has little to do with poetry. As you know, poetry basically uses fewer words than descriptive text, so in the case of books, there is a large margin on the page.

You see the beautiful words spelled out in the poem. After seeing, you see a pure white space in the margin. The pure white space allows infinite imagination, and you imagine a certain scene.

As I said, poetry doesn’t explain anything. Instead, poetry can be said to provide a blank, infinite space for the page, giving the reader time to imagine.

With that in mind, the poet must choose and effectively display words that are rough, precise, and make the reader imagine something endlessly. Isn’t it more difficult than explaining something in some cases?

Well, novels and poetry. Which is easier when creating? The fundamental question is what the diverse readers are looking for.
