But even with the many free services we use, we should assume that certain revenue models are working.

In my personal opinion, when I contacted by SMS, I have the impression that the subsequent talk or negotiations will proceed smoothly.
I think this is because the other person reads the text, scrutinizes the content, and organizes it. This does not happen with voice calls.
Since the voice call is a real-time conversation, there is no time to think about the topic, and the conversation progresses and ends without both parties agreeing.
